Describe your business in a few words.
As a mortgage broker, I help people find the best mortgage product that suits their needs. Having access to many lenders allows us to find the best rate and terms, saving our clients thousands of dollars.
What inspired you to start your business?
Both of my parents are realtors, so I was around the real estate business a lot growing up. I love that I get to help people achieve their dreams of home-ownership and there's nothing better than knowing I've helped someone save money for the things in life that they love. As a mortgage broker, much of my work is done remotely. This also allows me to continue to pursue my goals in curling as I can still work while I'm away in competition.
One interesting or fun fact about you or your business.
Taylor and I are both colleagues in the office and teammates on the ice!
Biggest lesson you’ve learned since starting your business.
I've learned that it takes time to build a strong base for your business. If you put your clients first, the rest will follow. Communicate well, be honest, listen to their needs, and make them feel important. If you can do that every single time, you will grow.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
When I'm not working, I'm usually curling! I'm either on the road in competition, or at home practicing and training in the gym. In the summers when I have a break from curling, I enjoy golfing and reading.
Favorite thing about coworking:
The atmosphere! The model of URBN is absolutely perfect for someone like me who travels a lot but likes an office space when I'm at home, but I feel I got very lucky choosing URBN as my co-working space. It's run by people who truly care about its members, and the members create such a great community.
How would you describe coworking to somebody?
A community of like-minded business people gathered in a space that makes it convenient and cost-effective to run your business.
